Favourite Looks for June

With another month at its end it’s time for another installment of favourite looks.
Here’s my top picks for June.

Since immersing myself in the pinup community I have made some wonderful friends and continue to meet so many amazing guys and gals along the way online and at events. Recently I’ve decided to try to be more involved and not let my social anxiety hold me back. So when an opportunity to have high tea with some Melbourne based pinups and our New Zealand guests of honour, Miss Victory Violet, Miss Rouge and Miss Wendy I knew I needed something special to wear.
So off to Spotlight I went to get the perfect fabric for my 1940’s pattern. After a few days work I couldn’t be more pleased with the results!

One of my favourite things to do is to watch pinup pageants and one that is always wonderful to watch is the Miss Pinup Australia pageant. The gorgeous ladies really know how to put on a show with lots of glitz, glamour and giggles.
I was actually planning to wear a handmade gown but then had an “ah ha!” moment and decide to give my Gilda gown a little love. I’m so glad I did because I felt absolutely ahhhmazing!

We all have that outfit in our wardrobe that we tend to gravitate to more than any other. You know the one, when you’re stuck for what to wear so you go with something you always feel great in!
For me it’s my maroon ensemble. I first decided to mix these colours last year and immediately realised I may have indeed found “my colour”….I’ve never had one before.
The mix of department store items and pinup couture works perfectly and creates an even balance that eases my newly budget conscious mind.

I was really pleased with how this outfit turned out but absolutely loved it when a gal on Instagram said it looked fit for Hogwarts…and so I dub thee the Slytherin Pinup look.
I love this dress with a long sleeve top underneath for added warmth, and now with the inclusion of the gorgeous Elvira coat I am ready to take on Winter!

The Gigi jumpsuit always makes me feel special, not only is it super gorgeous and extremely flattering, it was a gift from my man *dawwww*.
Being on the short side (I’m 5’3 or something like that) I seriously struggle with full length trousers being too long. I didn’t have to worry about that with this baby which makes me love it all the more, yay no alterations required! I can’t believe I was actually worried I might not be able to get much wear out of it, WRONGO! I wear this to work quite often and would wear it everywhere if I could.
Jumpsuit- Miss Candyfloss
