Favourite Looks for May

I love being able to dress up every day and create fun looks.
With so many different outfits it’s hard not to have some that stand out to you more than others.
Here are my favourite looks for the month of May.

This ensemble was such a wonderful surprise to me; I hardly wear all black and had forgotten just how striking it can be.
The simple pairing the Velvet Lolita top and Jenny skirt created a look that was anything but, I felt so glamorous and like I should have been sipping cocktails in the parlour at Madame Brussels.
This look is perfect for a vampy day look and can easily be glammed up with a black veil fascinator and black lace gloves.

I love bold prints and will often wear a print skirt with a plain top.
Mixing colours can sometimes seem overwhelming, but it’s easy if you just look at the colours in your print piece, which will give you a better idea of what to pair with it. Over the past few months I’ve discovered that darker colours compliment my pale complexion quite nicely so I paired the Woodland skirt with this dark burgundy long sleeve top and softened it with the powder blue necklace and shoes.

The cooler weather means I get to start breaking out my Birdie dresses more often, but I’m going through a phase wear I prefer to wear separates.
This new style preference luckily doesn’t stop me from enjoying my favourite prints. With a bit of wriggling, the Birdie dress becomes the Birdie skirt for a sweet Autumn floral look.

With the weather here in Melbourne skipping Autumn and going straight to Winter, sweaters and long wool skirts are a must. Luckily I have both, and will be needing more!
I had this fabric sitting in my stash for about a year and kept avoiding doing anything with it, goodness knows why; but I finally did something with it. I’m so happy with the results and how perfectly it pairs with this gorgeous sweater.

The final day of Autumn sure was a chilly one, finding an outfit first thing in the morning when it’s 3°C outside is not easy. I couldn’t decide between pants or skirt and top. Flipping through my wardrobe I saw the Film Noir dress and thought “what the heck, why not?”. I was initially going to wear my black Jenny skirt over the top but I’m glad I didn’t. This dress was meant to be seen, not covered up.
